The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched a nationwide digital health record system aimed at transforming healthcare delivery across Bangladesh. The system will connect over 500 government hospitals and health complexes in its first phase.
Patients will be able to access their health records, test results, and prescriptions through a mobile app, reducing the need for paper records and enabling better coordination among healthcare providers.
The system also includes an emergency alert mechanism that can notify nearby hospitals when ambulances are en route, potentially saving critical time in emergencies. A pilot program in Dhaka showed a 30 percent improvement in patient processing times.
